A wedding card was received on WhatsApp, and money vanished from the account as soon as it was opened!

This was not the first such case. Last year, too, a case came to light in which scammers cheated people by sending malware in the form of wedding cards.

There is a flood of scams on the internet and mobile these days. Scammers are making people their victims in different ways. Recently, information about a new scam has come to light. In this, scammers are sending wedding cards to people through WhatsApp. As soon as someone clicks on these wedding cards, money disappears from his account. Actually, in the form of these wedding cards, scammers send APK files to people's phones, which collect their important information.

The case came to light from Maharashtra

A government employee in Hingoli district of Maharashtra received a wedding card in a message from an unknown number on WhatsApp. Its caption read, 'Welcome, please come to the wedding.' As soon as the employee clicked on it, within a short time Rs 1.90 lakh was stolen from his account. Actually, it was not a wedding card but an APK file. With its help, scammers stole his important information and data, with the help of which they were successful in breaking into his bank account. The victim has lodged a complaint with the police regarding this matter. 

How to protect yourself from such scams

This was not the first such case. Last year also a case came to light in which scammers cheated by sending malware in the form of wedding cards. Now once again such incidents are increasing. Therefore, one can keep oneself safe by keeping some important things in mind.

Do not open messages received from unknown numbers or persons on social media or mail.

If a message looks suspicious, always call the sender and verify it.

Do not give your personal information to any suspicious or unknown person on social media.

If a suspicious or unknown person is sending you messages, block him and inform the investigating agencies about it.
