A movie lover has named a cop drama has the 'most addictive' series on Netflix as he urges everyone to check it out. EccyReviews, who uses his TikTok platform to share news about the 'best' shows and movies on various streaming services, has shared his thoughts on Mare of Easttown.
Created by Brad Ingelsby and starring Kate Winslet, Julianne Nicholson and Jean Smart, the 2021 limited series follows a small-town police detective as she tries to keep her professional and personal lives separate while investigating the death of a teenage mother. Its storyline reads: "A young woman is murdered in a small Pennsylvania town. On the case is Detective Sergeant Mare Sheehan, a highly skilled crime investigator. She has spent all of her life in Easttown and knows everybody in it. However, her life is dark and troubled, due largely to the recent death of her son."
Commenting on the series, EccyReviews said: "If you only watch one limited series this year, it has to be this one.

"It is not only the most gripping limited series I have ever watched but it genuinely might be the best.
"I genuinely couldn't stop myself from binge watching it that I stayed up until 2am watching the entire thing - trust me, I absolutely loved it."
He goes on to praise the casting and acting – saying it's a "must-watch" right now, despite the fact it came out four years ago.
Commenting on his video, one user said: "Excellent series." Another user added: "Mare of Easttown is unbelievable. God tier show."
A third user said: "Watched this following your recommendation. loved it." One more user added: "It's a top limited series!"
Sharing their thoughts on IMDb, one viewer said: "The fact that a Brit mastered the very isolated DelCo accent is incredibly impressive. A very small percentage of Philly suburbanites have that accent and she delivered beautifully.
"Now onto the actual storyline. It's meticulously crafted and the characters are so well developed you feel as though you're watching your next door neighbour play a part in a TV show.
"It doesn't scream Hollywood, which gives it such a real feel that you almost forget you're watching a show and not a documentary.
"The plot was not exaggerated nor was predictable. I enjoyed every minute. This is a job well done."
Another added: "I can't believe how much I enjoyed Mare of Easttown. It's about a small town Pennsylvania homicide detective who's life falls apart around her as she investigates a murders.
"She's also a home town basketball hero so the entire town knows her. Even though it's gotten great reviews and has been nominated for just about every award I was still hesitant about watching it.
"I was wrong. It was fantastic! The writing and acting (especially Kate Winslet) are some of the best of the year.
"The twists and turns will keep you at the edge of your seat and guessing what's going to happen next.
"All the hype surrounding this show is much deserved. If you haven't seen it yet give it a chance, you won't be disappointed!"
