Newsboy's horseracing tips for Monday's four meetings, including Kempton Nap

RANEENN should relish the return to six furlongs for the Unibet More Extra Place Races Fillies' Handicap (6.40) at Kempton on Monday.

The William Haggas-trained daughter of Kodiac has gained each of her three career victories at six furlongs, most recently when landing a fillies’ handicap at Doncaster in April.

Raneenn has missed the target in six subsequent attempts but, having gone up to a British Horseracing Authority mark of 87 after her win on Town Moor, has come down to a rating of 81.

The evidence of her last two efforts over five furlongs, a fourth on this surface at Lingfield at the beginning of last month and a third to Gold Star Hero at Great Yarmouth 12 days later, suggests coming back up in distance is the right move.

Cieren Fallon’s mount gets the chance to prove that theory correct and the form of the Somerville Lodge team, currently rattling along at a 20 per cent strike rate, is another plus.

After a last-time-out course-and-distance score, CRYSTAL MARINER should again go well against seven opponents for the Try Unibet's New Smartview Racecards Handicap (7.10).

The Jamie Osborne-saddled five-year-old is 5lb higher as a result of his length-and-a-quarter margin from Blast The Dream, but Crystal Mariner could well have more to offer on artificial surfaces.
