To save more than 45 crore people from the clutches of online gaming, the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Bill 2025 has been passed in the Lok Sabha. According to the data provided by an official source after the passage of this bill, a shocking thing has come to light. According to the data, the government estimates that every year about 45 crore people lose about 20 thousand crores in online real money gaming.

Due to the habit of these games among people, not only money is being lost but these games are now becoming a big problem for the society. The government decided to give priority to the welfare of the people rather than the revenue loss due to the ban and introduced the Online Gaming Bill, after which it has been passed in the Lok Sabha. The purpose of bringing the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Bill 2025 is to promote e-sports and online social gaming by banning betting and these money games running online.

Strict action will be taken against those who break the rules

Under the bill, action against companies involved in money gaming will be taken mainly by the state governments. If a company offers online money gaming service by going against the bill, then the violator may face a fine of Rs 1 crore or three years in jail or both. There is also a provision for two years imprisonment or a fine of up to Rs 50 lakh or both for advertisers.

The government has been making such efforts for the last three and a half years but the players doing real money gaming were ignoring this. Sources say that the government also tried to stop this through GST but even then it was being ignored. Sources say that the provisions of the bill have been drafted after receiving complaints from the people.
