The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have renewed their multi-million-pound deal with Netflix, despite reports that the agreement was likely to come to an end. The couple confirmed in a statement that they would be "extending their creative partnership" in a new "multi-year" deal for film and TV projects. The agreement includes a second series of Meghan's cooking series, 'With Love, Meghan', and will also see a "holiday special" episode released in time for Christmas.
Meghan added in a statement on Monday: "We're proud to extend our partnership with Netflix and expand our work together to include the As Ever brand." Some critics were quick to pour scorn on the announcement, with one labelling it a "downgrade" designed to save the pair from "embarrassment". Kinsley Schofield told Talk TV: "Netflix did not want to have the same egg on their face that Spotify had when they had to admit that they had mismanaged thousands of dollars when it came to offering the Sussexes the Spotify deal."
